About the Tissington Trail & Cycle Hire.
The Tissington Trail set up by the Peak National Park is a scenic route 13 miles in length, running from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay.
The trail follows the old Buxton to Ashbourne railway and the rambler or rider finds himself travelling through the matchless countryside of the National Park without the interference of cars, pollution or noise.
There are car-parking points for people joining the trail at various stages. Walking and cycling routes, all clearly signposted, take the visitor to various local places of interest. There are also shorter routes for people who do not wish to wander too far: these are circular routes based on several of the car parks along the White Peak Scenic Route. At Hartington the old signal box is now an Information Point, open in summer on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
There is a cycle hire centre at the edge of the village, close to Hawthorn Cottage.
We are now taking bookings for 2008. Please book early to avoid disappointment! Click here for more information.
